Gulf training swims, Naples Beach Club (through end of October)

“Alternative Ride” hosted and led by Velo member Rich Crouse. “Want Miles?” Come join Rich Crouse every Saturday morning on an alternative Velo Ride. Rich leads a 22/23 mph tempo ride on various rotating routes (route posted Friday each week) — usually 65 +/- miles – safe and controlled. Meets at the normal Velo start at the Market Place at Pelican Bay.  PS: Make sure you bring plenty of drinks and snacks due to the length of this ride.

FIRST and THIRD Sunday each month. The  “Sanibel Island”  ride.  Nice, 65 mile GROUP tempo ride.  Speed runs 22-24mph (moreso 24mph) up to the Sanibel Causeway. Once the ride hits the Sanibel Causeway, the speed picks up to a no speed limit ride across the causeway.  The Group then reassembles at Huxters Store on Sanibel Island (right at the stop sign, then north a few hundred yards) and then returns home.  The speed back tends to pick up a bit and the ride usually splits into a front fast group and a moderate 22-24mph second group.

Really great scenic ride.  Ride leaves at 7am an the normal NV starting place (Publix Shopping Center in Pelican Bay Market Place) and it travels up to Huxters Store, just over the causeway on Sanibel for a short break, then back.
