Music has a powerful impact on our society. From fulfilling our aesthetic needs, to developing creative individuals, music touches everyone. Many begin their musical journey in a school band, orchestra or choir program. The experiences they encounter in these programs teach them the unique musical language, develop instrumental and vocal skills, prepare them for lifelong learning, increase their test scores, and foster positive social groups. For some, school music is the only opportunity they have to develop their skills as musicians. Come support the Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts Band Program and music in Lee County.

The Naples Holiday Shootout, is an intricate part of the Naples Sports Foundation, which was founded 20 years ago. They have been providing an opportunity for girls throughout Naples to compete in AAU, YBOA and USSSA events. This past year saw boys being given the opportunity to compete in these organizations in basketball and baseball. It is their mission to build good citizens and quality high school student athletes through life’s lessons found in sports.
In 1999 several of the Board members discussed the possibility of hosting a national basketball tournament. That led to the founding of the Naples Holiday Shootout. The first year listed 8 teams and saw Cheltenham PA, H.S. win the inaugural event.
The second year they grew to 16 teams and in 2012 we added the “Beach Bash”, which is a 4-6 team grouping of teams which play “Feature Games”throughout the Shootout.
They are now in our 15th year, and have become recognized as one of the top two National Holiday Tournaments.
