The 5th Annual Walk For Wishes® 5K Walk/Run, to benefit Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida, will be held on April 18th, 2015 at the Florida Gulf Coast University Recreation Fields located at 10501 FGCU Boulevard South in Fort Myers.

The fundraiser is a certified timed 5K walk/run with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. and walk/run beginning at 8:30. The Family Fun Day, which includes food, face painting, a rock climbing wall and more activities, will run from 9:00 to 11:00. All ages are encouraged to participate in the event to help make wishes come true for local children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Pre-registration fees for the Walk for Wishes are $25 for adults, $15 for students and $10 for children 12 years of age and younger. Event-day registration is $30 for adults, $20 for students and $15 for children 12 and younger.

Registration is available online at www.walkforwishessfla.net to sign up as an individual or to register a team. A team consists of a minimum of four people; each team member must register online and pay entry fee prior to the event. Team members receive a t-shirt if registered by April 2, 2015. Any team that raises $2,500 or more will be named a partner in sponsoring a child’s wish, and any team that raises $5,000 or more will be named a wish sponsor.

10K Run for Music

Join musicians from the Naples Philharmonic for the annual running of the 10K Run for Music race.

The 10K Run For Music course is USATF Nationally certified – FL09078EBM. This is a 6.22 mi route in Naples, FL. The race route begins west of Pelican Bay Boulevard S. and Highway 41, finishing at Artis—Naples.

Marco Island Half Marathon & 5K

There are 10 water stops in the half, and 2 in the 5K. We will have water, Gatorade and GU. The course is not closed to traffic, 5-6 miles are located in a gated community with very little traffic. There are police on the course.
There is ample parking at the shopping center (Publix) where the race begins.

YogaCAN

In the fall of 2013, a BV Yoga student was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her family, realizing that they were blessed to have the resources necessary for her fight, became passionate about helping others in Naples that weren’t so fortunate. And so JaneCAN, a fundraising event for the Cancer Alliance of Naples (cancerallianceofnaples.com), was born. BV Yoga had a benefit class and a silent auction, and the response from the community was incredible and heartwarming. BV Yoga ended up raising almost $35,000 and awareness for the Alliance and their important work.

Since that event, the idea has resonated, within both her family and BV family, that the larger Naples yoga community is also touched by this disease, and might welcome the chance to support this outstanding organization. And so, on March 29th at 11:00am, BV Yoga will be hosting YogaCAN at the Naples Beach Hotel, with proceeds benefitting the Cancer Alliance of Naples. The BV Yoga hope is for this to be a day where the local yoga community can come together for the greater good!
