I’m in South Africa at the 10th Women Playwrights International Conference, here to perform my solo show, attend the conference, and act in other play readings. I’m also doing my best to keep up with my fitness lifestyle, although it’s challenging, what with jet lag, rehearsal schedules and performing.
Here’s a pic of my healthy breakfast, with a view of the side of Table Mountain, an iconic symbol of Cape Town:
I keep my nutrition fairly simple here, because hotel, so this is an egg white omelet with veggies and roasted potatoes. I have this meal a LOT.

In the photo, you can also see a Dale’s Raw Protein Bar. I brought a bunch of these with me. They are great for travel—all whole food ingredients, and no preservatives (so they do need to be refrigerated). My coach told me about them last April and I’ve been ordering them regularly ever since. They are cleanest bar out there, and have 22g of protein per serving, with no artificial ingredients.
Cape Town is a beautiful city. South Africa has come a long way in the 21 years since becoming a democracy, and I am glad to be here to experience it.
