FN Box Battles will take over Lover’s Key State Park this Saturday and Sunday, September 28-29. Lover’s Key State Park is made up of four barrier islands and features a two mile long beach and abundant wildlife. The beach is accessible by boardwalk, so please leave plenty of time to get from the parking area to the Box Battles Arena. It is highly suggested that spectators bring their own seating and lather on the sunscreen and bug repellent, as this event is on the beach and in full sun.

Vendors on site include Total Athletic Performance, Sports Authority, PhyisoFit, Lola Gams, Pure Food Co., Naples Family Fitness, Omni, Addicted 2 Rx, Movadria, Maximized Living Chiropractic, XOC Chiropractic, Fuelstrip, Fit2Run, Trek, Unbreakable Apparel, Diamond District, Massage Envy, Fresh Fit Foods, and Progenex. Also watch for representatives from Girls on the Run of Collier County and Southwest Florida Mud Run/Golisano Children’s Hospital, the two charities that will benefit from this weekend’s event.

If you take a break from watching the WODs, you can hike the trails and watch for manatees, dolphins, bald eagles, and roseate spoonbills, or do a little shelling on the beach.  Concessions are available through the park, along with kayak rentals if you are feeling extra adventurous.

Box Battles starts at 8am and ends at approximately 4pm, so you can make a day of it (or two) and watch some amazing athletes while enjoying the gorgeous barrier islands of Southwest Florida. Fees to enter Lover’s Key State park are $8 for a vehicle with multiple people; $4 for a single person in a vehicle; and $2 for pedestrians.
