Experience Eric Paskel’s life-changing yoga classes during his Fort Myers workshop on April 18th and 19th.

Forget any preconception that you may have about what yoga is supposed to be like and be prepared to awaken your mind to a completely fresh and invigorating experience. On April 18th and 19th Eric Paskel, the founder of Yoga Shelter will be at Aki’s Ballroom Dance Studio for a three-part workshop. The event will be hosted by Ruby and Pearl’s Yoga Studio and promises to have students rocking out on their mats. Think energetic flow coupled with loud, exhilarating music and lots of sweat.

Eric’s unorthodox personality has made him a highly recognized and sought after instructor packing studios (and the Ford Field!). And, we’d be remiss not to mention that he plays the guitar and sings, too! His genuine passion for making yoga relatable is truly what makes him stand out. “The messages I share in class are meant to help us improve our relationship with the world, so that we may carry ourselves through life with peace and prosperity,” he says. “I view each class as an opportunity to create and nurture a community of students, myself included, who will encourage and nurture one another’s growth.”

Heather Holland, owner of Ruby and Pearl’s Yoga Studio, was first inspired by Eric’s teaching style at the Yoga Journal Conference last October. She knew she wanted to create an opportunity for local yogis to practice with Eric. “He is a non-conformist, but conformist at the same time,” says Holland, adding, “He does classic yoga poses (asanas) but throws in fluid flowing movements to help you ease into them. Not to mention, he plays great music. Pure positive motivation is what he is about.”

The workshop will consist of three classes: Yoga Rocks, Yoga Rocks Bootcamp, and Vindalini. “Music is a huge part of every class, however just as each class has its own energy and its own vision, so does the music to meet the class’ vibe. The best way to differentiate each class from the other is by the physical movement, because the philosophy in every class is the same,” shares Eric.

Friday Night, April 18th from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm: Yoga Rocks
Get ready to let loose! Eric’s signature class is made up of a rich flow, great tunes, a splash of chanting and some discussion. Bring your lighters and wear your favorite concert tee!

Saturday, April 19th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Yoga Rocks Bootcamp
The most dynamic of the three; it is the only class that incorporates cardio elements, bootcamp-style exercises and challenging flows, all to energetic music. You’ll leave this class feeling exhilarated.

Saturday, April 19th from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Vindalini
This class blends some of the most powerful breathing exercises with a Yoga Rocks class (vinyasa + kundalini = vindalini) for some personal deep cleansing. Eric’s favorite!

Students have the option to reserve a spot for the entire workshop or just a single class. For more information or to register, visit rubyandpearls.com.
